Journal # 6: Are Wii the Children of the Revolution?
Ever since gaming started by Nintendo gaming companies have been looking for more ways to make their system much better than the other. They make the graphics better or make the the controls better. All of these companies focused on those aspects of the consoles they make thinking that this would put them on top. For a period of time it did put them on top until gamers and consumers start to find it boring because it does not put any fun to it anymore. They all know someone will end up having the next best graphics or best power for their console making it only fun for people who actually know about these things. The fun of playing games in the beginning of all gaming is starting to fade away until Nintendo's latest console release the Wii. The Wii has put the fun back to gaming making it fun for everyone even the clueless people. It suddenly the console everyone wants to try or have in their homes. Its competitors like the PS3 and Xbox 360 were just made for people who knew about gaming and know how to use these consoles. The Wii was made for everyone. It lets everyone have fun and it even gives you a little bit of a work out with some of the games Nintendo has put out for the Wii. For some of its games you don't even have to know how to use the controls. Some games only asks you to swing the controller like in tennis. The confusing controls for the people who do not play games a lot for PS3 or the Xbox 306 is taken away in the Wii. There are still some buttons you can use but most of its games are focused on using body movement to control the characters in the game making it fun to use. Nintendo created a revolution with the Wii by focusing on the fun of playing games instead of following the pack with trying to better their graphics or power of their consoles. The Wii is also the highest selling console right now because of this aspect of the console. It can be used by everyone and everyone just wants to have fun playing games which the Wii has achieved.
